Recent mess of minis and hauls

"Gladys, please apologize properly." said Dealys.
"But, I do apologize." As usual, the carefree Gladys just seem too rude.

First of all, I would like to apologize for being so quiet lately. My "bad" habit just turn at it worst lately; I am just lazy to talk. =.=; My friends often scold me, saying that is rude. I am sorry, but I just don't have the energy to update anything. I did some miniature works and more greedy haul lately (which I am going to talk about in this post).

I am a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of Totoro and I would always squeal when I see the merchandise. The last time I wanted to buy this keychain, I had no money at that moment. And the second time I went to the shop, it was sold out! I regret it so much and considering to buy it online, but it was almost double the price (because of the shipping) so I gave up. But last week I found it again! Being a "good" girl, I only bought one with me (and plan to buy more in the future! XD)

And it made me "itch": to make more totoro items! I did the bento, cream puffs, sandwich/bread and my dream clock. So the cookie has been the next one in the list, but last time I was afraid that I can't be patient enough to make a small cookie (even now I still don't have the patient! XD). Of course, I have to make in 1:12 and 1:4 scale for my Anzu. Actually I made the mold for these cookies at the same time I made the halloween cookies, but I haven't got time to decorate it yet. The "icing" took me few days to do, they are very hard and due to my perfectionist habit, I redo countless times just to make them right!

This is my sketch for the background of what-will-be-the-package. It's going to be scaled down (the package won't be that big!) I am still considering on how I am going to package it though. :)

I also made several more cookies (plus the christmas cookies which I haven't finished yet). And again, the decorating part took longer time than I expected. So perhaps I am only going to sell the bigger cookies (scale 1:4). Hahaha, I think the small one will be more costly since they are harder to do (+ more mistakes T.T;)

The animal shaped cookies! My two favorite animals are still missing in this photo, since they are not done yet. :)

I also did some japanese pickles / preserved veggies. I did the umeboshi few months ago from left-over clay, and of course I would think it won't be enough unless I make some more to go along with it. I also make the kimchi (korean; which usually served as side dishes) which I love how the color turned out to be. You can view them on my flickr to find out what their names are. :)

And these are my hauls last month (I know I seldom talk about them, but today I was so happy to receive my favourite book in the mail! :D)

I bought this lovely Japanese interior book, I always use the excuse that this is a "good reference" for my cafe. XD

I bought some glass items from etsy. I filled them in with "sugar cubes" which was actually another accident. It was meant to be "sugary candies"; that is why it is quite big (?)

And I bought more from Mdm. Ang. The scissors doesn't work, but it was the right size and only cost for S$1! Being the slow one, I was so lucky to grab this one before Snowfern did! (We were bickering at it as usual! XD)

Pill boxes and contact lens boxes that are going to be scale 1:3 or 1:4 bento box!

these are plastic; but I really cannot resist them since they only cost about US$1 each!

And of course, Ottoline by Chris Riddell which I have been waiting for since last year! It is a children's book which I will gladly recommend, even when you are not a kid anymore! The illustrations are so gorgeous (it's more than that; I cannot find the right word to explain this book.) I have all the books in this series, including other books done by the same illustrator. Haha, I think if anybody ask me why I like this book so much, I could go on until your ears are tired from listening to me. :)

Yes Rosanna, I did the sugar cubes! It was an accident actually, I didn't intend to make one. Hehehe. I still think it's quite tricky to make with the technique that you and Cindy talked about. But you won't really know unless you try! :)

Thank you Pei Li :) Haha, I noticed you are also a strawberry addict! XD
