Alice inspired furnitures

>>  25.4.14

For the last few weeks I was making these Alice themed furniture. If any of you follow my instagram, you might have seen that I have been making Alice themed food as well. (Although the Alice project is now being distracted due to another upcoming local Singapore exhibitions - will post about this soon!)

As you can see, I am addicted to the black and white diamond for the sides! The carpet was one of my loots when I went to Turkey in 2012. Another must have in my Alice scene is the mad hatter armchair. It is oddly tall for a 1:12, as it is in most illustrations.

Before making my own furniture (and thanks to greedbay), I bought these House of Miniature kits and spent around 3-4 days to finished the kits. The fabric is from my stash. The pillows are actually removable; except the sofa of course, so I can make another to fit other scenes.

While I'm on the roll, I was tempted to make armchair for my dolls too. Lucky Ayame, since she's the smallest so it is always easier to make things for her. Other than the feet of the armchair, everything was made using pvc board and foam board. They are much easier to cut and shaped, not to mention lighter. I wouldn't know for sure that these board will work for the bigger dolls, but they are strong enough for Ayame. (The pillow was sewn using the left-over pieces; I made few mistakes when I first tried to assemble the pieces).

Hello Asuka,
Terrific job. I love the chair and the fabric you used is perfect.
Big hug,
